Today we will be reading 2 Chronicles 7, and just as God told Solomon, sometimes life will not always be easy, but there is a plan and a pattern for getting right. The problems our country faces are great; the issues go far beyond money, and the solutions seem very illusive. There are many things hanging in the balance right now for our nation and we need to pray for wisdom for our congress. They are debating on whether there will be public funding to pay for abortions and how those who do not have access to our health care can receive it and how to pay for it all. Our cities, counties and states are balancing the needs of public service with the scant resources from this downturn. For the Christian, we are told exactly the four things we need to do. Humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways. In these last 20 days, we have focused on our church fellowship, but we must also go beyond that. Strong, godly churches are the salt and light to a community and country, so let’s do all we can as citizens and Christians in 2010 and beyond. In Christ, Pastor Mark
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
Prayer: “Dear God, may You not only heal our church, but heal our land.”
